Friends of The Pinnacle (fotpin) is a group of ParkCare volunteers with a common interest in protecting, enhancing and promoting the ecological values of the Pinnacle Nature Reserve.
We encourage participation by all who use and value The Pinnacle Nature Reserve. There are currently 114 members and a further 247 interested people on our email list.
You don't have to be a member to participate in (or initiate) fotpin activities; just ask to be put on the email list and we'll keep you informed, or keep checking the website, particularly "What's On" and "News". However, by becoming a member (which is free) it helps us understand your interests and tailor activities to them, and it does give you a voice in our (low key) formal decision making processes.

As well as our own governance structure, fotpin is subject to the ACT Parks and Conservation Volunteer Policy and Code of Conduct 2018 .
The group's goal is to foster an enduring community of interest that protects and enhances the ecological values of the Pinnacle Reserve. Wherever possible the group seeks to apply its conservation strategies to the adjacent properties, including the "Bottom Pinnacle" and the former Kama leasehold see Regional Map of the Pinnacle).
To this end, the group's objectives include promoting and implementing strategies that:
- foster community interest and pride in, and care for, the Pinnacle Nature Reserve;
- improve ecological function; and
- halt and reverse threats to ecological function posed by:
- pest plants and animals;
- land and water degradation; and
- contemporary fire regimes.
See our current activities for a list of what we are doing to implement these strategies at present.
Suggestions for other activities compatible with our goals are welcome; email your ideas to the?Coordinating Committee.
